Here's Sewing with the Anncie 1!

Happy Labor Day!
Hello fellow sewers or just interested readers!
I'm Carol better known as anncie1. I love the pattern review
website! I appreciate all who inspire me to sew - Beginners to Experts!
I love knowledge and brain exercise. So I'm here to share. I had a
peek at some other sewing blogs and OMG! I thought I gotta get busy! I
just moved my blog to my business site,
g-CAS!, I figured why pay for two websites? Made no
sense so here I am! I took some time to update my site. :-)
Anywhooooo, my birthday is coming
soon (9/2) Wish me happy day!
I COULD HAVE BEEN SEWING!!!

Wardrobe update! 8/22/08
There is none again!!
It's been
a month and I have not yet attempted to start my wardrobe. There is
another wardrobe contest happening as we speak but I don't have the
motivation or time right now. I have fallen drastically behind
on laundry and basic housework (sigh!). I'll be holding auditions for a
wife soon! Applicants urged to apply! I will however be cleaning
my closet tomorrow to get ready for my "wardrobe" because I won't have
anything to wear if I don't!! :-) This will force me to get my butt in
gear! In the meantime in between time I have made quite a few
summer things and a weekender tote which I will review on PR and post on my blog in a week
or so. Sew stay tuned! My birthday is near, so I will be
making a suit or something for that and a hoodie for my cutie patoodie
(son) for "back to school" both which I will enter in the "Lined
Jacket Contest" on PR. Wish me luck! Last but not least I have
two magazine projects to hit the news stands in the winter. I'll
keep you posted

Today I got to sew a
baseball jersey for the one and only "Billy D.
Williams"! He threw out the first pitch at the White Sox game
and wore the shirt!.

How cool is THAT!

Wardrobe update! 6/21/08
There is none.
My hunk of orange fabric is still sitting
in the same spot untouched! But here is what I've been doing - My
friend and I have been sewing like the craft crack heads that we are.
We had a binge
weekend last week! She
managed to make three blouses and
I made the following: White pants
- Butterick 6350 I think this is out of print, two skirts - New Look
6843 pictured in yellow and 6758 not pictured because I wore it
,
three pairs of madras shorts w/ drawstring - Simplicity 7092, a pair
of pleated shorts (reviewed on PR) - Vogue 8085 and a partridge in a
pear tree. (la la la!)
One of these days I will take a
photo of myself in
my finished garment because I love the camera but until then what you
see is what you get - sucka! (Flip Wilson aka Geraldine) Oh, am I
showing my age?!
Anyway
for the "sewing record" all of the patterns listed are extremely easy
and fast to make (Great projects for beginners). That's what I
needed - fast! Last years summer wardrobe is a tad bit to small
and I just can't wear another pair of shorts partially unzipped!!! Stay tuned for the Wardrobe! I'll get to that!

A Little About Me:

I figured to get to know me I would start with my room. This is
where all the magic happens and where I create! (or watch TV).
My room is set up to accommodate 2 class folks, and the best part, my
friends - who come over and sew. We stay up all night!
Now here is my fabric stash! 60% of it is from
Vogue
Fabrics! I live less then 5 minutes away from their outlet
store!! Oh woe is me!! (NOT!)
As you may know this is my primary closet. Then there is the RTW and
other stuff located in another part of my home. :-) I'm addicted to
fabric (as you can see) and have learned a lot about it in the few years
I've been sewing. I found out that my sewing talent is truly a god
given talent in which I really enjoy. I am blessed to be able to
produce such wonderful things with a little time, my hands and a small
machine. But anyway, I've convinced myself that if it's neat and
displayed well - my addiction looks more like organization. It also
makes things a hell of a lot easier when I'm sneaking it in. (HA!)
And More Stash. . .!
Now for Inspiration
- I have to hand it to you all - my fire was started over this Wardrobe
(everything) contest on the PR site. I have a few fav's too! Erica B.
I love your work - you are da woMAN and 3kids you are a wonderful Adv.
beginner and well on your way to the big leagues. Your work is
uplifting! So here is my
board
for my
June Wardrobe project.

I made myself some rules: I can only use what I already have. I'm
only allowed to buy needed foundations (facing, buttons, etc.) NO NEW
FABRIC (nail bite nail bite nail bite) and NO NEW PATTERNS (Sweat Shake
Sweat) I CAN DO THIS!!!!!!
I'm not entering the contest but I am "starting over". I will be
previewing these garments during the process. I'll post them on the
review site as well. Starting over means I will be emptying my clothes
closet! I'm getting rid of all the bogus stuff and keeping a few choice
dresses and outfits and I'll be officially getting my Wardrobe On! from
here on in.
Witness here my first hunk of dark orange fabric (100% heavy stretch
cotton with a chevron print - had 3 years now - got if from Vogue
Fabrics in Evanston, IL. soon to be Capri's. Butterick 4994 View C .
Can't wait to get started!
